  • See your Google Meet on your iPad screen while you teach from your laptop (or vice versa)

  • Extend your screen's real estate to maximize efficiency

  • Pro: Use your Projector, Macbook, and iPad as three separate screens

  • Note: for Sidecar to work, you must log in to both iPad and Macbook with the same Apple ID, turn on bluetooth on both devices, and enable Handoff on the iPad (Settings > General > Airplay and Handoff). After you have enabled all settings, reboot your iPad. The first time you connect, go to System Preferences on your Mac, choose Sidecar, and look for your iPad under Devices.

Sharing with both at-home and in-person students by joining your Meet from two devices

  • Start the Meet (through Classroom or meet.google.com) on your Macbook Air

  • Using the Classroom or Meet app on your iPad, join the existing meet or use the instructions here to join in present-only mode on your iPad (to avoid audio feedback issues, make sure your iPad device is turned all the way down and you've muted the microphone in the Meet on the iPad)

  • Share your iPad screen to the Meet

  • On your iPad, open the camera app and point the iPad at what you want to capture: document, the classroom, or a wider angle of the teaching space (note that you may need to reverse the camera direction by tapping the icon on the right)
